Fit for a Queen.....

.... these 'Crown' Cushions are made with images from my fave The Graphics Fairy. I just knew they'd suit these white cushions with their button detail. I used transfer paper (like you would use on a Tshirt).

They have been washed at 40 degrees to test the images. As you can see, they stood up to laundering perfectly, you just have to remember not to iron directly over the image. They are on sale to locals through my Facebook page (I Love My Home) and will be going to my retail space at Nature's Harvest or my next vintage fair (depending on how soon someone snaps them up!).

Have a Good Day Everyone!

One of my favourite things.....

..... is beautiful perfume and my favourite perfumier is Guerlain. I love that it's French, classic, old fashioned and has a heritage that's still adored today. I love Mitsouko and L'Heure Bleue and it looks like I'm in good company - I found the following on another 'favourite thing' the blog 'People, Places and Bling' which helps me to pretend I'm in Paris when I can't actually be there:

The Shabby Chic Cat

I knew I sewed all those cushions for a reason...........

Brag Monday....

Many thanks go to Karen at the Graphics Fairy for featuring my Cinderella table on Brag Monday today and for letting us all have access to such wonderful images for our projects

By the way..........

.......did you know that the 'glass slippers' in the Cinderella story were actually made from squirrel skin?! The word for glass is very similar to the archaic world for this type of skin - hence the change (or maybe someone just decided it sounded more glamorous to have glass slippers!!

Cinderella: once upon a time......

a dear little table who clearly had good breeding, had been left alone, covered in orange varnish. Why DO people use that?? Underneath the scuffs and scratches she had beautiful neo-classical features and was crying out for a transformation into a French style side table perfect for a country chateau

I waved my magic paintbrush and with the help of some Annie Sloan paint and an image from the Graphics Fairy (love her!), Cinderella became the Belle of the Ball!

As soon as I saw her in her  raw state I knew that the 'laurel wreath' image from Karen at the Graphics Fairy was perfect for this little sweetie!

She is now an elegant, refined aristocrat and she will grace my retail space at Nature's Harvest beautifully (that's if I don't keep her!). I know that if I take her to my next vintage fair she will be snapped up by Prince Charming and they'll live happily ever after.....  sigh.....
